 In the 1960s, Stanford psychologist Walter Mischel developed what he called the marshmallow test.
It was pretty simple and straight forward. He put a marshmallow on the table and then asked young children, one by one, to hold out and NOT eat the marshmallow that was in front of them. He then left the kids alone in the room. |
