Strength training and HEALTH advice for adults over 40 in Coolock, Artane and Raheny.
|
Have you been putting off investing in your health because you think it’s too expensive? For many adults over 40 in Coolock, Artane and Raheny, that’s the most common reason people delay getting started. We see this every week with people considering personal training at Evolutis. But in reality, that’s rarely the full story. The Real Objection: “It’s Too Expensive”
I was recently speaking with someone about joining our group personal training gym in Coolock. As always, the conversation was going well until we reached the point of discussing price. The word “expensive” came up. After years of coaching, you start to recognise a pattern. Most of the time, “too expensive” isn’t really about money. It’s about uncertainty, fear of change, or doubt about whether it will actually work. So instead of pushing back, I helped them take a step back and look at their current lifestyle. Where the Money Was Already Going Like most people, they hadn’t really looked at their weekly spending in detail. Here’s what came up:
At this point, we didn’t even need to go further. The Reality Check When we added it up, it came to over €120 per week, or over €500 per month. All going toward habits that were increasing weight, draining energy, affecting confidence and impacting long term health. This is something we still see regularly with busy adults over 40 across North Dublin. The Hidden Cost (That Matters More) The financial side is only part of it. What came out next was more important. They felt low in energy, unattractive, unmotivated and disconnected from family life. They knew something needed to change but hadn’t made the move. Reframing the Decision Instead of asking “Can I afford a gym or personal training?” the better question became “Can I afford to keep doing what I’m doing?” Because the current lifestyle was already costing more, both financially and physically. What Changed Once they saw the numbers clearly, the decision became simple. By making a few small adjustments like reducing takeaways, cutting back slightly on alcohol and being more intentional with spending, they were able to join a structured, coach led personal training programme, improve their fitness, strength and energy, and still have money left over. No extreme sacrifice required. What This Means For You If you’re in Coolock, Artane or Raheny and feel like getting fit is “too expensive”, it’s worth taking a proper look at where your money is already going. Most people don’t need more time or more money. They just need structure, guidance and accountability. Final Thought Your current lifestyle is already costing you something. The question is, is it giving you anything back?
