So this week I was chatting to one of our members Stefanie. Stefanie is now on the 12 week home straight to getting married! She's done unbelievably well over the last year dropping a couple of stone and becoming fitter and stronger than ever before. The old dress has had to be taken in a couple of times already! But it's now "business time" as I said to her the other day. So we arranged a Zoom chat to run through the strategy and plan of action for the next 12 weeks.
After we had a chat Stefanie sent me over her meal plan fo the week. One of the first things I noticed was there were a good few higher calorie snacks and foods. Things we think are healthy like hummus, peanut butter, cheese & protein bars. So we swapped some of these things out for more nutrient dense stuff. Foods that are lower in calories but very filling. The next thing that cropped up was that Stefanie opened up to tasting food when she is making it or preparing it. As I pointed out - a teaspoon of peanut butter is the same amount of calories as a tub of strawberries! So if you are taking just a little extra bite, lick or taste of peanut butter, hummus or dinners you are prepping.... ......you could , without realising, be sabotaging your progress! To put it into context - a few bites, licks and tastes could cost you a couple of pounds every week or two... So for the next few weeks that's the focus for Stefanie. Stick to the plan and cut out the BLT's. I'll keep you posted on how things are going. What do you think? Are you guilty of enjoying a few too many BLT's? Let me know! David "peanut butter is my kryptonite" Knowles P.S. We didn't take ALL the nice stuff out of Stefanies meal plan....Just fine tuned it so she can still enjoy food she likes but will also see results she wants for her big day! :)
