We are hard wired to focus on the negative. It's a survival instinct. So if you are face with a "negative" exam result. Or a fitness or health assessment isn't where it should be. Maybe you've put on weight and fallen backwards slightly? In these situations you could be forgiven for saying "feck it" I'm done.... This however is a mistake. An issue with your mindset. How you choose to look at things..... So instead of looking at failure as final....
Instead look at failure as feedback. What can you learn from the result you've achieved? What do you need to do better to improve your situation? What gaps do you need to fill in your experience or knowledge of training or nutrition? Winston Churchill famously said "Failure is never fatal, it's having the courage to continue that matters most...." (This was after England had turned an overwhelming defeat & full retreat of their professional army in France into winning their first major battle in Africa...) I think this type of mindset is incredible.... ....and mindset is something I'd encourage you, or anyone I work with to work on. Because it IS something you can (and probably should) work on.
